Salsa at City Hall is a free weekly Latin dance event happening on Wednesday evenings in July and August at the Ottawa City Hall. 2022 dates: Wednesdays from July 13 to August 31, 6:00pm to 11:00pm We are outdoors (on the Rink of Dreams) if the weather is good, and indoors (in Jean Pigott Place) otherwise.

Dance lesson

No dance experience needed! Each evening starts with an absolute beginner dance lesson at 6pm. You’ll learn the basics of salsa, bachata, kizomba or zouk from Ottawa’s most beginner-friendly dance schools and instructors. The lessons taught at Salsa at City Hall are a great first taste of these dances. If you want to learn salsa, bachata, kizomba or zouk beyond the very basics, contact your favourite school or instructor for additional lessons.

Special treats

In addition to the beginner lesson, each school will offer special beginner-friendly programming until 8pm. From slow, accessible music to dance to extra assistance from instructors and helpers to fun activities and even live dance showcases, come see what makes each school special!
